Dalus Capital Backs AI Climate Tech and EV Charging Startups in Latin America
A major boost for climate tech innovation is underway as Mexican venture firm Dalus Capital invests $2.7 million in Argentine startup Satellites on Fire, a company using artificial intelligence to detect wildfires faster and more accurately than ever before.
The funding round, which also includes participation from Draper Associates, Vitamin C, and Draper Cygnus VC, highlights growing investor confidence in AI-driven climate solutions tackling global environmental risks.
AI-Powered Wildfire Detection at Scale
At the core of the startup’s offering is a powerful platform that combines satellite data, ground-based cameras, and fire propagation models to detect wildfires in real time. According to the company, its system can identify outbreaks 35 minutes faster than traditional monitoring tools, including those used by NASA.
This speed advantage is critical in preventing small fires from escalating into large-scale environmental disasters. By leveraging advanced AI algorithms, the platform enables early intervention, helping industries and governments protect ecosystems, infrastructure, and lives.
Global Reach and Real-World Impact
The technology is already making a significant impact, monitoring regions across 21 countries on four continents. Its client base includes companies in forestry, agriculture, and energy, alongside government agencies and carbon project operators.
Notable users such as Genneia and Cervecería y Maltería Quilmes rely on the platform to safeguard operations against wildfire risks.
With around 55,000 users and more than 20,000 field validations, the startup has built a robust system capable of delivering accurate, scalable insights. In 2025 alone, it supported responses to over 600 wildfire incidents, demonstrating its growing importance in climate risk management.
Expansion Plans and Insurance Innovation
With fresh capital in hand, Satellites on Fire plans to:
- Enhance its AI models for even greater accuracy
- Expand into the U.S. market
- Launch a parametric insurance product for wildfires in partnership with Aon
This move into insurance signals a broader ambition to integrate technology with financial risk solutions, offering businesses new ways to manage climate-related threats.
Dalus Capital Doubles Down on Clean Technology
The investment is part of Dalus Capital’s wider strategy to support high-impact startups across Latin America. Earlier in 2026, the firm also backed Chilean EV charging startup Enerlink in a $3.1 million Pre-Series A round led by Kayyak Ventures.
Enerlink focuses on electric vehicle charging software, currently managing 390+ charging connectors and processing over 180,000 transactions in Mexico. The company aims to become the country’s leading EV charging platform by the end of the year.
A Vision for Technology-Driven Impact
Founded in 2015, Dalus Capital has made over 24 investments in startups such as Clip, Kubo Financiero, and Xertica.
Its focus remains clear: backing companies that use technology to solve critical global challenges, from climate change to clean energy.
Conclusion
As climate risks intensify worldwide, investments in AI-powered climate tech startups are becoming increasingly vital. With strong backing and proven technology, Satellites on Fire is positioning itself at the forefront of wildfire detection and prevention, while Dalus Capital continues to drive innovation across sustainable technologies in Latin America.
