Edumentors to launch AI-powered tutoring tool while Boost My School expands fundraising tech for private and faith-based schools.
A London-based online tutoring startup, Edumentors, has raised $2 million in seed funding to build an artificial intelligence-powered tutoring platform called Edu AI. The round was led by Abu Dhabi-based Magna Investments, with support from angel investors.
Edumentors, which connects students with university tutors across the U.K., said Edu AI will integrate interactive tools such as digital whiteboards, on-screen exercises, and visual AI analysis to respond to students’ body language—replicating the feel of a real classroom. Alongside developing its AI product, the company plans to further strengthen its existing human-to-human tutoring platform, which has already delivered more than 100,000 lessons worldwide.
Meanwhile, U.S.-based Boost My School, a fundraising platform tailored to private and faith-based K-12 schools, announced a $10 million funding round led by Indianapolis venture capital firm High Alpha, with participation from Far Out VC, Ground Game, Allos Ventures, and angel investors including Scot Chisholm, founder of Classy (acquired by GoFundMe in 2022).
Founder and CEO Holman Gao said Boost was born out of challenges he faced helping his high school raise funds. The platform streamlines giving by providing schools with tools to manage events, donations, and campaigns. With fresh capital, Boost plans to expand its team and enhance its fundraising suite.
High Alpha Partner Mike Fitzgerald noted that Boost’s ability to simplify fundraising for underserved schools is “critical for the long-term success of these institutions.”
