Fresh off a $17B Microsoft deal, the Amsterdam-based company doubles down on data centres and GPU capacity to meet surging AI demand.
Amsterdam-based Nebius Group is moving aggressively to cement its position as a heavyweight in the global AI infrastructure race. Just days after finalizing a multi-billion-dollar contract with Microsoft, the company announced plans to raise $3 billion in fresh capital to accelerate its global expansion.
The financing package blends $2 billion in convertible notes and $1 billion in Class A shares through a public offering. Of the notes, $1 billion will mature in 2030, with the remaining tranche set for 2032. Proceeds will be channelled into expanding Nebius’ worldwide data centre footprint, increasing compute power, and securing strategic land plots for future facilities.
Riding the AI wave
The push reflects soaring demand for infrastructure dedicated to artificial intelligence. With cloud and enterprise clients scrambling for ever-greater GPU capacity to train and deploy advanced models, Nebius is scaling at speed to stay ahead in one of tech’s most competitive arenas.
A $17B Microsoft partnership
The timing of the raise is no coincidence. Earlier this week, Nebius confirmed a five-year contract to supply dedicated GPU infrastructure to Microsoft from a newly built facility in Vineland, New Jersey. Regulatory filings value the deal at $17.4 billion through 2031, with potential to rise to $19.4 billion if Microsoft expands its usage.
For Nebius, the agreement represents not only a transformative revenue stream but also validation from one of the world’s largest technology companies. The partnership enhances Microsoft’s AI cloud capacity while providing Nebius with long-term stability and credibility.
Market momentum
Investors have responded with enthusiasm. Following the announcements, Nebius’ Nasdaq-listed shares surged more than 49 percent to a record high. Year-to-date, the stock has soared an astonishing 245 percent — underscoring confidence in the company’s strategy.
By combining sizable financing with a guaranteed anchor client, Nebius is setting itself up to deliver advanced infrastructure at scale. The infusion of capital will support rapid growth across new geographies while strengthening its position in the global AI infrastructure market.
