The tech giant’s landmark investment aims to accelerate artificial intelligence innovation, support startups, and position the United Kingdom as a global AI leader.

NVIDIA has announced a bold £2 billion investment to strengthen the United Kingdom’s AI startup ecosystem, marking one of the largest commitments of its kind in the country. The capital will fund AI research, support new company creation, generate jobs, and provide the infrastructure needed for the U.K. to compete globally in artificial intelligence.

The move comes at a critical time, as scaling AI companies in the U.K. has been constrained by limited access to supercomputing, rising energy costs, and venture capital challenges outside London. In collaboration with leading investors including Accel, Air Street Capital, Balderton Capital, Hoxton Ventures, and Phoenix Court, NVIDIA plans to expand opportunities for entrepreneurs while connecting capital with the nation’s strongest AI talent and research institutions.

NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang described the investment as a “Goldilocks moment” for the U.K., where world-class universities, bold startups, and advanced supercomputing intersect. British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer welcomed the announcement as a major vote of confidence, underscoring its potential to create jobs, ignite new industries, and cement the U.K.’s place at the forefront of global AI innovation.

The funding will target AI growth zones across London, Oxford, Cambridge, and Manchester, ensuring nationwide access to both capital and cutting-edge infrastructure. By backing founders, researchers, and emerging deep tech companies, NVIDIA and its partners aim to supercharge the next generation of British AI startups and accelerate the nation’s role in shaping the future of technology.
